Paint The Sky
Have you ever acknowledged God for the simple things? He’s all around us reaching toward us through the mundane things. The environment we live in honors God in ways that we never think of.
The crisp of the morning air and bare trees reminds me of God's sovereignty and grace . Even though the tree may look dead with no leaves on them, they still have a root with a strong foundation. God's grace is defined as undeserved favor. Though we mess up, if we come back to our roots grounded in Christ we will always stay strong- that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:17). The air represents God and how He is everywhere , fulfilling and helping us to breathe. The cold crisp we feel is like the Word- For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

This winter we were fortunate enough to experience snow. The pure whiteness reminds me of the way God cleaned us from sin- Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow (Psalms 51:7). Then the warmth of the sun comes to melt the snow and provide water to the environment. The same as God shines his light of faith, goodness and love unto us, after cleansing.

Then you have rain. Some people can connect rain with negative emotions, but there’s something peaceful about it. Soothing, calm and relaxing, just like how God can cause a soul to feel after his comfort and love settles. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). The gentle tone of his voice that leads, guides, provides and reassures. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20). Though the rain may bring dark and gloomy clouds, it’s always after the rain that the sun shines. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). All of these make up who God is-comfort, peace, reassurance, guidance and joy.

The sunset is like a painting in the sky. It’s amazing how God can take breathtaking strokes of different colors to make something so beautiful. Some days it may be pink and purple, other days it may be more orange. This is just a portion of who God is. One day God may show up different than the last day. God may move unexpectedly, however it all results to show His grace and power. Everything He does is to show His purpose. No matter how things may occur in your life, it does not take away who God is. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not hither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it (Isaiah 55:10-11). With God, everything is yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). Just like he causes the environmental factors to do its job, He will cause all things to happen for us- our job is simply to believe and receive.
Everything around us is a representation of who God is. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. The earth and all its fullness and even our circumstances can be a reflection of God's power and presence. Our view of God changes the deeper we grow into relationship with Him- we have to ask God to see things from His lenses. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:17-18).
If God can paint the sky with colors, cause snowflakes to fall, rain to shower and connect it all to honor him in its own way, can you just imagine how heaven will be? One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple (Psalm 27:4)
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands- Isaiah 55:10
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever- Isaiah 40:8
“but ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,”
Hebrews 12:22 KJV
